We hope the following stories written by past participants give you both insight and inspiration into the positive impact of attending a Courage in Action conference.  They say it best!

"I continue to apply the tools and strategies that I learned."

A story of change...

I was provided with the services of a life coach, Rosemary F.  She was very instrumental in helping me move forward through a difficult period. (Acrimonious separation). With her help, I became more confident, & gained a better understanding of my needs and wants.

I continue to apply the tools and strategies that I learned from Rosemary to be successful in selection processes at work and to assist with maintaining relationships.

From a professional standpoint, I have moved two levels higher at work.  The increased salary has allowed me to qualify for a mortgage earlier this year to buy out my children’s father so I can remain in my home.

"I felt special."

A story of change...

The conference empowered me to be the best person that I can be. Life struggles, trials, hardships and sufferings at that moment was forgotten. I felt like I belong and hearing the testimonies made me feel hopeful for the future. I am positive that I can change and put my life back in order. It may not be the speed that I like but slowly and surely I am reaching the desires of my heart which is to create job for me and others.

Personally witnessing and hearing the courageous women changed their lives is very encouraging to me. I felt special at that time, with learning, listening, sharing stories and meeting lovely people from all walks of life was exciting.

I appreciated you and all the women who helped in putting together such a powerful conference. I imagine myself standing in front of the crowds telling my stories one day and hoping that it would help others too.

"Being part of the conference made me feel accepted and validated."

A story of change...

Being part of the conference made me feel accepted and validated, I am not foreign, strange or weird; there are many women who had similar experiences with emotional, physical and sexual abuse.  They have been able to overcome it and live out their dreams.  Their testimonies have given me hope and courage all these years.

The last few years have been very difficult for me, and this May 10, I lost my father to Alzheimer`s even more of a reason to attend, as my heart was broken. The conference has become a special event to me, as I am surrounded by amazing women, who willingly and effortlessly make it possible for women like me to confront my past, heal from it and have hope for my future.

Thank you so much for putting this conference, as it continues to ignite my heart with hope, courage and to persevere even in the midst of all my pain and struggles.

"It is one of my absolute favourite days of the year."

A story of change...

The conference last year inspired me to take action towards what I feel is my calling. My ideas and feelings were validated and I met some amazing women. Also was connected with Up With Women coaching program which I have been accepted into. I hope to be a speaker at conference someday!

It is one of my absolute favourite days of the year. I walk away feeling so empowered and feel like I can take on the world. It’s given me the tools to start flourishing in my personal and professional life.

I attended for the first time last year. It was the best experience I’ve had as a woman my whole life. I want to feel that again. The joy. The empowerment. The connections.

"I re-discovered that I am still worthy and capable."

A story of change...

This conference helped me to re-discover some very important things. I re-discovered that I am still worthy and capable; there is a reason for me to believe in myself,

Believe that I can accomplish all that I put my mind to, Most of all I learned that life does get a whole lot easier if you put you first, learn to love me first again.  For being able to have a chance to learn, grow adapt, and I can move mountains, if I put my mind to it.

I still, to this day carry the little round glass with my arrow I made in my purse. My sign for I am rising, going straight up, I will get back to the top. This I am doing!

"This has help me to move past many things that used to bother me."

A story of change...

The way my life was changed, is that I now look at and think of other people differently. I have kind of come to terms with all the wrong that was done to me in the past. I started thinking of all the people that did me wrong and caused me grief. I think that maybe that person is or was having some kind of issues that caused them to behave the way they did. I thought something must have happen to them in their life to caused them to be the way they are.

This has helped me to, maybe not forgive them as yet, but to be mindful of what they are going through or have been through in the past. This has help me to move past many things that used to bother me.

"I, myself, am now in a mentoring program-as a mentor-to women."

A story of change...

Last year was the first year I was fortunate to attend this conference and it was something to behold.

I, myself, am now in a mentoring program-as a mentor-to women in horticulture who come from difficult backgrounds but have the opportunity to change their lives…I refer back to the attendance of this conference that enabled me to do that. Thank you…looking forward to it.

This conference helped me to re-discover some very important things. I re-discovered that I am still worthy and capable; there is a reason for me to believe in myself, believe that I can accomplish all that I put my mind to.

Most of all I learned that life does get a whole lot easier if you put you first, learn to love me first again. I am still nowhere where I would like to be, but I have learned, that looking at life in a different way, will help me to continue to excel.

"Talking about Womens' issues in an open forum without bias or judgement."

A story of change...

Women Moving Women Conference was very memorable.  I appreciated the location.  I can also not forget the gifts, we were handed so many things, including delicious food, and beverages.

The difference this conference has made for me personally is talking about Womens’ issues in an open forum without bias or judgement.  I have personally kept an envelope of things that were given to me.

Also I met some good people who were all there to support a positive Womens’ movement.

Thank you

"Took time to share & show their willingness for getting out of their trap."

A story of change...

I was really thankful that you and the other ladies took time to share & show their willingness for getting out of there trap and Courage to succeed, no matter what they got hit with in life.

Being very young and with a single Mom I remember her on the phone telling her friends to be grateful in life and to laugh & smile always, that God & Universe will do their part… so I thank you for showing me once again it is true she was not just being crazy.

Thank you.
